You can create a bedside table with just two round pieces of plywood (one smaller than the other) and a trashcan. The larger piece should be used as the tabletop and the smaller piece should fit snuggly inside the opening of the trashcan. Glue the smaller piece of plywood to the bottom of the slightly larger piece. Then cover it with a ready-made tablecloth. Or cover with an inexpensive neutral-colored tablecloth and drape a home-made square table runner
(using an inexpensive $5 remnant piece of high end luxury fabric) over it. Keep in mind that you can use the trash can for storage.
This is just one of the little bedroom decorating ideas that can be made on a budget to make a dramatic change to the ambiance of the room.
