Do It Yourself Directory

I am always surfing for great do it yourself projects and have compiled a huge list of bookmarks to sites that I have found interesting and helpful. This directory will be updated as I find more sites to add so be sure to bookmark or subscribe to the RSS feed.

Home decorating has never been easier!
  • Budgeting Your Project - If money is tight, or you plan to spend over a couple hundred dollars on your decorating projects, a budget can really keep you on track and keep you from wasting a bunch of money on stuff you didn’t really need.

  • Upholster Your Box Spring - add decorative feet, and never use a bedskirt again in your bedroom!

  • Boat Bed - Another one for the kids.
  • Bookcase, draperies and cornice combined to make a headboard and canopy effect.
  • Contemporary Headboard - Think craftsman style with a modern twist. Made of wood and fabric. Changing the paint job and the fabric inserts can give this headboard a completely different style.
  • Art Deco Headboard - I’m not so sure I like the fabric choice on this one, but that’s easily changed. It gives you the Art Deco style idea. It could be made to look like a sports ball too!
  • Padded Fabric Headboard - Hangs from curtain rod, and has pockets for the remote, magazines and places for photos! It could be hung over a desk or dresser too. It’s basically a memo board with pockets.
  • refurber.com-With refurber you no longer have to do-it-totally-yourself. Get useful advice from our community before you start. There are home renovators, craftspeople, DIY’ers and plenty of other ‘handy’ people hanging out. You can ask the community a question, upload your project photos or write some advice of your own.
